Sunday....already?

Well, it is Sunday evening of an eventful week!!
I spent the afternoon watching Guess Who's Coming to Dinner. Love it!
Started watching Sunset Boulevard, but the laundry called me away.
Don't ya hate when that happens??

Between the big election, the Browns game in Cleveland, bringing oldest dd home from college for a few days, an OSU hockey game...I am just plum tuckered out!

Now a new week begins...wonder what it will bring??

twitter and plurk

Me again....I have gotten stuff done today, but have also wasted alot of time today too....what is new?

I signed up for Plurk and for Twitter...because I hate to miss out on something that everyone else seems to be doing. But I don't understand them!!! LOL
I promise to keep trying and maybe I can be cool too.

www.twitter.com
www.plurk.com

I am MBS45 on both of them....so creative, I know!!

Election Day is Here!

Good Morning!

It is finally here and I am sure it will be a long day!

I know, I know, it is the 4th and I didn't post anything on the 3rd. I had lots to say, just never got a chance to get here.

Plus, when I sit down here, my mind goes blank. Maybe this chair is in a black hole and it sucks all the energy and thoughts out of my head!! Hahaha

I need to have the oil changed in the car before we head up to see Brady Quinn lead the Cleveland Browns to a victory on Thursday night. Although, I have a soft spot in me for Jay Cutler, the quarterback for the Broncos. He was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes last summer, and I am very curious to find out how he handles that with playing football.

I was able to see Obama cast his vote this morning on tv....it was very inspiring and it was fun to watch his girls. They have a tough few years ahead of them when he wins! I loved how the campaign set it up for Biden to vote immediatly after Obama did. They kept those tv cameras focused on them for as long as they could!!

Well, I better get moving for the day...I am hoping to make an apple pie with the boatload of apples Julia and I picked the other day!

Good Sunday Morning!

Good morning!

2 more days till the election is over. I get anxious during these last few days, wondering what will happen....nationally AND locally.

My question for today is....
Which of my 2 younger daughters are more like me?
The younger one (white print dress), who has a group of beautiful, quirky friends??

OR....
the older one, dating the football player?

They both make me excited and anxious about the future!!

NaNoBloPoMo

NaNoBloPoMo???

What the heck is this??

http://nablopomo.ning.com/

NaNoBloPoMo stands for National November Blog Posting Month!

I think

It is a way to get people posting to their blogs each and every day! Obviously, I need help with this, so I am going to try to post each and every day during the month of November!
This is my post for the first day.....will try to do more later today...gotta go shower now. We just cleaned our bedroom and I am itchy from the dust bunnies we had to take down and kill. Whew...they are sneaky little boogers!!

I am going to venture into a project-A project that has to be done in 1001 days.
It is a list of 101 things I would like to do in 1001 days.
Hhhhmmmm where to start??
Maybe I will start tomorrow...You know-like Scarlett.....

The Mission:
Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.

The Criteria:
Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).

Why 1001 Days?
Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple goals such as New Year's resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organising and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.

Some common goal setting tips:
1. Be decisive. Know exactly what you want, why you want it, and how you plan to achieve it.

2. Stay Focussed. Any goal requires sustained focus from beginning to end. Constantly evaluate your progress.

3. Welcome Failure. Frequently, very little is learned from a venture that did not experience failure in some form. Failure presents the opportunity to learn and makes the success more worthy.

4. Write down your goals. It clarifies your thinking and reinforces your commitment.

5. Keep your goals in sight. Review them frequently, and ensure that they are always at the forefront of your thinking.

Ok, Ok....I will start now....

1. Walk the dog every day.
2. Plan meals -which includes grocery shopping and cooking too!
3. Don't eat after 8:00 pm (once I do this, I will back it up to 7:00)
4. Get all of my knitting supplies into one place.
5. Inventory said knitting supplies-mostly needles-so I know what I have and don't have.
6. Clean out 'tornado room'.
7. Update wills and Powers of Attorneys-I am not getting any younger!!
8. Color my hair.
9. Get a hair cut.
10.Pay off credit cards
11.Read a book a month
12.Only watch tv that I really want to watch.
13.Donate the old car. This needs to be done soon.
14.

Knitted gifts

I have been knitting, but slowly. This is a baby sweater I made for a friend's grand daughter. It turned out pretty cute. There is a burp rag in the picture too!

My latest accomplishments!

These are my latest accomplishments! The socks were alot easier than I thought they would be. Regia yarn with size 2 needles. I used the basic pattern from the Cat Bordhi book, but only did the ribbing at the top. I didn't think I would like the yarn, but I do!! It is alot more comfy than I thought it would be!

The sweater is the Central Park Hoodie pattern from Knitscene magazine. Loved it! I learned alot because it was my first sweater!!
